New Zealand native Anna Weinberg is the Owner and Managing General Partner of Big Night Restaurant Group, LLC which owns and operates The Cavalier (2013), S&R Lounge (2013), Park Tavern (2011), and Marlowe (2010). Anna is an industry veteran steeped in experience from iconic New York restaurants such as Danube, Il Buco, and Barbuto, as well as San Francisco staples Town Hall and Ame at the St Regis. Anna was named “Restaurateur of the Year” by San Francisco Magazine in 2012, and named to the San Francisco Business Times “40 under 40 List” in 2014.

San Francisco native James Nicholas is the Owner and Managing General Partner of Big Night Restaurant Group, LLC, a San Francisco based hospitality management firm that owns and operates The Cavalier (2013), S&R Lounge (2013), Park Tavern (2011), and Marlowe (2010). James is a longtime venture investor, inventor, and restaurateur who evaluates structures, and raises capital for Big Night’s restaurant ventures and provides ongoing financial and operational oversight to its portfolio of properties.

Jennifer Puccio is the executive chef and partner at The Cavalier (2013), Park Tavern (2011), and Marlowe (2010) restaurants. Puccio’s culinary credits include working with acclaimed chef, author, and James Beard Award winner Anna Sortun of Oleana, where she learned the art of creating balance while working with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors. Puccio’s credits include Daniel Patterson’s former restaurant Elisabeth Daniel, and Cortez, where she earned her first three-star review from the San Francisco Chronicle, an honor she earned again for both Marlowe in 2010, and Park Tavern in 2012.

Chief Pastry Officer, Big Night Restaurant Group

With six cookbooks to her credit and numerous awards, Emily Luchetti has helped to define what great pastry means in America. As chief pastry officer for Big Night Restaurant Group, she drives the pastry vision for The Cavalier, Marlowe, and Park Tavern and creates beautiful interpretations of some of the world’s most beloved classic desserts.

Prior to joining Big Night Restaurant Group, Luchetti was executive pastry chef at San Francisco’s Farallon since its inception in 1997, and at Waterbar since it opened in 2008. Luchetti began her culinary career on the savory side of the kitchen at San Francisco’s legendary Stars restaurant before switching to the sweet side three years later. She was the pastry chef at Stars for seven years and also co-owned the retail bakery StarBake.

The petite powerhouse is also the author of Stars Desserts (HarperCollins, 1991), Four Star Desserts (HarperCollins, 1995), A Passion for Desserts (Chronicle Books, 2003), A Passion for Ice Cream (Chronicle Books, 2006), and The Fearless Baker (Little, Brown and Company, 2011). Her first two books were rereleased as Classic Stars Desserts (Chronicle Books, 2007).

Luchetti’s honors include the 1998 San Francisco Focus Magazine Pastry Chef of the Year, the 2001 Women Chefs & Restaurateurs Golden Whisk Award, the 2003 Food Arts magazine Silver Spoon Award, and the 2004 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. From 1994 to 1999, she served as chairperson of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs, and currently serves as a dean of the International Culinary Center in both California and New York. In 2009, the San Francisco Chronicle chose Luchetti as one of 20 Visionary Chefs in the Bay Area, and she was inducted into the Culinary Pioneers of America. In 2012, she was inducted into the James Beard Foundation Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America. Luchetti is currently the Chair Emeritus for the JBF board of trustees, where she served as Chair from 2012-2017. Previously, Luchetti served on the Foundation board for six years, three as vice chair, and as chair of the James Beard Awards Committee. She also serves as an Oxfam Sister of the Planet. Luchetti is also the founder of #dessertworthy, a social media movement aimed at increasing mindfulness around sugar consumption.
